About us
Who Are We
People that never danced before or only back in a time that long has been forgotten and want to engage with a highly versatile and sociable hobby.
Experienced dancers from other couple dances, particularly Ballroom and Latin as well as Salsa, Bachata or Kizomba for instance, who are looking for inspiration, something fresh or simply a more emotional and connected kind of dance.
Experienced dancers from solo dances like ballet, jazz, modern or pole who want to experience couple dance.
And then there is this fourth type of folks that seems to incorporate and unite all the other types. People who are on a search for meaning and are looking for something although they might still be uncertain what exactly it is; but for some mysterious reason seem to be drawn towards Zouk.
What Unites Us
Our common ground is the desire for motion, for music and for unconstrained expression and perception in freedom and love.
We are a community of inclusive, open-minded human beings that truly welcome your soul, a community that is hard to find in most other forms of dancing and perhaps most other common activities.
It does not matter if you already know what you are looking for or not. Dare to let go of your restricting mind patterns, self-doubts and societal masks, join us and you will soon be mesmerized by the acquaintance of the rich diversity of people aspiring for a dance and hobby that is equally intense as challenging.
What we do
In weekly regular courses and additional trainings we meet to study and improve the basics, technique, patterns and figures.
For irregular workshops we invite national and international teachers for extended or multi-day courses and intensive trainings.
We organize casual parties indoors and outdoors, dedicated as well as usually in combination with all the activities mentioned above.
Zouk Munich is also highly international, traveling to other cities and countries for special events in smaller and larger groups.
Most of us engage in activities beyond dance.
