Zouk Teachers in MunichGet ready for the Zouk dancefloor
Andrius and Sigrid
Sigrid started dancing when she was 13 years old. After many years of extensive training in various solo dance styles including Jazz, HipHop, Modern/Contemporary, Ballet, Oriental Belly Dance and Tribal Fusion, she discovered her new passion Brazilian Zouk. She fell in love the mixure of freedom, connection and technicality that Zouk offers. To her, Zouk gives you the freedom to create your own dance style and allows you to discover the connection between the partners while being rooted in an elaborate technical fundament.
Next to the regular dance classes and her yoga practice, Sigrid regularly attends workshops and dance events with teachers from all over the world. She completed the MAC Teacher Training with Alex de Carvalho and the teacher training from Kadu and Larissa.
For Sigrid, dancing is a language that allows you to discover and express yourself. From the connection to yourself, you can connect to your partner, the music and the world around you – and have fun!
Andrius started to dance Latin and Ballroom competitions at the age of 16, broadening his background in Jazz dance and Ballett as well as Salsa which he taught for two years.
Andrius has been dancing Zouk since 2014 and teaches a classical, flowing style with a big emphasis on technique. He tries to show the fun in discovering your own way of moving while still paying attention to your partner. He completed the MAC Teacher Training with Alex de Carvalho and the teacher training from Kadu and Larissa.
Paula’s passion for dance started at the early age of 4 in Switzerland, where she began children Ballet classes and gave her first performances. Following her move to Madrid, she tried new styles such as Hiphop and Tap dance at @danzaduque. During high school, she traveled to summer dance camps such as @socapanyc where she had the chance of working with professional and international dancers such as @vikingaushi and @dexterbcarr on the production of Modern and Contemporary dance videos. While at university in Boston, Paula found a team of Salsa dancers and, in parallel, took her first Bachata classes at @sycdance.
It wasn’t until she moved to Barcelona in 2016 that she truly dedicated most of her free time to Latin dances (Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk). Her technique and musicality was shaped by different inspiring artists such as @gaticadance, @annanavarro.dancer and @mykizbcn. Paula was also part of @wmbygatica with which she performed in congresses and events including @bcnsensualholidaystenerife, @antillabarcelona and @salavivaldi.
In August 2019, Paula moved to Munich to become part of the @dancewithgeorge team teaching bachata intermediate/advanced levels.
Paula is now a teaching Bachata and Zouk with her dance partner @sebastian.birk. Follow their movement on FB and Instagram @bailadictos for their classes and workshops!
After 15 years of dedication to (professional) sports in the form of handball & tennis, I started my dance career with Salsa LA classes at Salsabor and OnStage in Munich in 2016.
Soon after, my passion for dance expanded into Bachata, which motivated me to move to Barcelona, arguably the epicenter of Bachata in Europe. There I had the chance to learn from internationally renowned dance instructors and underwent a teacher’s education for Bachata Fusion by Bachata Fusion founder Frank Santos. Subsequently, I started to give classes for Bachata Fusion and went to over 50 international dance congresses to acquire new skills and elevate my level of dance and musicality. I also started to intensively study Kizomba and my now favorite dance Brazilian Zouk.
In September 2019, I moved back to Munich where I continued to give Bachata classes at DanceWithGeorge.
Nowadays, I am teaching Bachata and Brazilian Zouk with my partner Paula Villa Fulton from Spain. Follow us on instagram (@bailadictos) and message us if you would like to join our classes, get to know us or take private classes! Our teaching focus lies on good musical interpretation, different dynamics in the dance, appealing footwork combinations and clear and soft leading combined with fluent following.
